Weighing your set up

not judging it

Most people we weigh aren’t reckless

And most are still over on at least one number

How we can help!

The what

We come to you with our trusty scales, find a level patch of ground, and spend about an hour and a half measuring everything that matters. You drive on, we do the measuring, and you drive off knowing exactly what your rig weighs — every wheel, every axle, the tow ball, the lot. Then we sit down with you and explain what it all means.

The why

People try and pack sensibly, they've checked the compliance plates, they've done the maths in their head. And most of them are still over on at least one number.

That's not a character flaw. The numbers on those plates assume an empty rig and a single skinny driver. Add the bull bar, the drawers, the fridge, a couple of passengers and the dog up front — then the full water tanks, the anti-flap kit, the camp oven and two weeks of food in the van, and a tow ball weight nobody actually measured. The maths quietly stops working.

The how

A written report, emailed the same day, with all your numbers in one place — what the manufacturer says, what your rig actually weighs, and what that means in practical terms.

But honestly, the report's the easy bit. The real value is the conversation. We'll talk you through where your weight is sitting, what to shift if anything needs shifting, and any quiet little issues we spot along the way.

You'll leave knowing your rig the way we know ours.

What’s at stake?

Here's what's at stake when the maths is wrong:

Police can and do weigh rigs roadside. Get caught over GVM, GTM, ATM or GCM and you're potentially looking at fines, demerit points, and being ordered to unpack at the side of the highway until you're legal.

This is the one most people miss. If you're involved in an accident and you're over any weight limit, your insurer can refuse the claim. Not "might" — can. The van, the tow vehicle, third-party damage, the lot.

We have seen first hand the devastation that an overloaded or poorly balanced rigs setup can do. It can devastate lives. These setups can cause braking issues, can introduce uncontrollable sway, and chew through tyres in ways you don't notice until something goes wrong. The difference between a rig that's set up properly and one that isn't is the difference between a good road trip and a nervous one. Not to mention the devastation an accident can cause.

We can't fix the maths for you. But we can show you exactly where you stand and what to do about it. No judgement.
